Be part of the games: Birmingham 2027, 29th July - 1st August

Getting Here

The University of Birmingham is perfectly located in the heart of the West Midlands, just two miles from the city centre, with excellent transport links.

By train

We have our very own University Station on campus, making travel quick and easy via central Birmingham.

If you’re staying at the Games Village at The Vale, it’s a 15-minute walk from University Station (navigate using your phone map app using the postcode B15 3SZ). If you have heavy luggage consider taking a taxi from Birmingham New Street Station.

Coach drop-off

Groups staying at the Games Village can be dropped off on Church Road at the Vale. Please note that coach parking is not available on campus.

Parking

Parking is available across campus on a first-come, first-served basis, and payable via the RingGo app.

  • Guests staying in university accommodation can park free of charge in designated areas at the Vale
  • Additional parking is available at North Gate Car Park (standard visitor rates apply)
  • Selected staff car parks will be open at a reduced rate of £3.00 per day

As spaces are limited, we recommend travelling by public transport or sharing journeys where possible

Blue Badge parking

While spaces cannot be reserved, Team Managers are encouraged to contact us in advance with their requirements, and we’ll do our best to help find suitable options. Please email: btg@contacts.bham.ac.uk

Getting around during the games

On foot

Walking is the best way to explore campus. Clear, accessible, step-free routes will be sign-posted, and maps will be available to guide you.

Accessibility

We have worked with AccessAble to map most of the buildings on campus and set out accessibility. There’s also a downloadable mobility map.
