If you’re staying in the Games Village, breakfast is included and served in The Shack each morning from 7am to 10am.  

In the evenings, enjoy dinner onsite, along with a welcoming bar, café, and shop. 

Our dinner menu, served from 4pm–9pm, features a variety of options including pizzas, burgers, street food and children’s menu, with prices ranging from £7.95 to £12.95. Our chefs endeavour to cater for most dietary needs; however, if you have any particular allergies or requirements please let us know on arrival, or contact us by emailing btg@contacts.bham.ac.uk

Across the wider campus, you’ll find a wide range of food outlets offering everything from grab-and-go snacks to fresh salads and classic British dishes, giving you plenty of choice throughout your stay. 

Please note: we are a cashless campus, so all payments must be made by card or digital methods.

Make your on-campus dining simple, convenient, and more affordable with our pre-paid card service. You’ll get an automatic 10% discount every time you spend it at any of our qualifying restaurants, including The Shack at The Vale, Cantina at University Centre and our popular pizza and tapas restaurant Cuore.  10% discount excludes alcohol.

Please note, you can’t spend your credit at our onsite supermarkets Costcutter or Co-op. 

How it works 

1. Order your card in advance 

Pre-paid cards are available by pre-order only and cannot be purchased on-site. Simply order yours before 6 July, and it will be ready for you to collect when you check in.  

2. Load your balance 

Add any amount from £50 upwards to get started. You can spend your balance across campus on food and drink. 

3. Enjoy automatic savings 

Every time you use your pre-paid card, you’ll receive an instant 10% discount on your purchase—no codes or vouchers needed. (Discount excludes alcohol)  

4. Top up with ease 

Running low? No problem. You can easily top up your card at the Games Village using our convenient self-service machines. We are unable to refund any unused credit.
